Could be your prayer is your way of connecting to the spirit world. Spirits know your'e there, they're drawn to those who have the capacity to help them. Like a beacon in the dark is what one of my guides is saying. So, I think that when you pray, you end up opening yourself up and thus drawing them to you. how to know who it is... ask them to show themselves to you if you haven't already. but to answer your comment.... for the others that don't know... blessing the house is only to keep the bad ones out.
